Here, you'll find English translations of stories, plays, and essays originally written in French over the past twenty or so years. All give different perspectives on what it means to be Franco-American … and how that might relate to "being" in general. I hope it will bring a smile of recognition to Franco-American readers and a bit more information about our group to non-Francos. | ||||||
"As Far as the Eye Could See" won the 2000 "France-Louisiane/Franco-Américanie" award for the best French-language short story. "Un Jacques Cartier Errant" is a one-act comedy first published in 1977. It has been combined with two other of my plays in a volume published by the University of Maine Press and available from Amazon.com (link below). "Somewhere Between Mania and Phobia" is a series of semi-serious essays that provide graphic proof of why being Franco is never boring. The essays are unpublished. However, if you'd like a copy just send an e-mail Greg Chabot and I'll be happy to send you one via your choice of e-mail or U.S. Mail (please specify). Enjoy. And please check back frequently, since we plan to change posted texts on a regular basis. |
